Don't let the hair fool you...
So yesterday, Old Dominion University hosted Cleveland State in a Bracket Buster game. A lot of people on campus were thinking this should be an easy win. Man were we wrong!!! Cleveland State has a player named Norris Cole who lit ODU up yesterday!! The score at the half was ODU 31 and Cleveland State 28. Out of those 28 points by Cleveland State, Norris Cole accounted for 24 of them. We simply did not have an answer for him. During one part of the game, the student section was chanting "ball hog!" I'm sorry, but if you have a player that is on fire, you would be dumb not to keep giving him the ball. Luckily in the 2nd half ODU tighten up their defense and was able to pull away with a 74-63 win. Norris Cole finished the game with 35 points and 5 assists. Cole averages 21.4 points per game along with 6 rebounds and 5.6 assists. A few weeks ago Cole had a 40/20 game and 1 assist shy of a triple double.

All is not lost
At the beginning of the collegiate season Harrison Barnes and Terrence Jones were said to be at the top of their Freshmen class. Terrence Jones who is a SF for Kentucky had his ups and downs. While averaging 17.8 pts per game, Jones and Coach Calipari had their disputes. With that not affecting Jones play, he is still seen has a high prospect for the upcoming NBA draft. Harrison Barnes who plays for UNC probably had the most hype coming into this season.
Shockingly, sometimes freshmen players actually play like freshmen. This is a quote from Slamonline.com but all is not lost for Harrison Barnes. As of late, he has been getting more buckets while helping his team get quality wins.

D-E-F-E-N-S-E... I may be wrong, but I doubt it.
I came across a blog site called rushthecourt.net and the website had a section called "Constructing The Perfect College Basketball Player". One thing that stood out to me was Ohio States David Lighty. Although he's been there for about 10 years (just kidding) due to injury, he is best known for his lock down defense on opponents. At 6'5, he can guard various positions from PG, SG, and SF. So whenever Ohio State needs a big defensive stop, they play new Charles Barkley T-mobile commercial, then call on David Lighty to step up! CAA.... What Up!
Like I said in my entry blog, I attend Old Dominion University which is a school in the CAA conference. Because the CAA is not a huge conference like the ACC or Big East, A lot of players in our conference does not get a lot of exposure. A player that comes to mind that did get the necessary exposure was Eric Maynor (Virginia Commonwealth University). For those who know Eric Maynor, he is best recognized for leading his team in the defeat of Duke in the 2007 tournament. Maynor is now playing back-up PG for the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Some other players that are highlighting the CAA is Denzel Bowles from James Madison University, Charles Jenkins from Hofstra, Frank Hassell and Kent Bazemore from Old Dominion University, and Chad Tomko from UNC-Wilmington.
